Adrienne has had much success in her chosen career of choice. Being exceptionally driven and passionate, her experience lies predominantly in the fields of legal, operations, customer care, accounting and credit risk management. Her 30 years of experience, 8 of which have been concentrated predominantly  in the heavy equipment rental industry, 12 years in the legal profession and the balance of her career has been concentrated in Blue Chip Commercial Companies, thus paving the way for her knowledge to be shared with her clients in her consulting company, The Back Office.

Why the name “The Back Office”? It is Adrienne’s belief that the back office wholly supports every other department of the company and together in unison work to improve the results of the company, ensuring that the goals of each department aligns to that of the Board’s goals and vision to ensure consistency and efficiency, and of course, profit.  Adrienne prefers to work with colleagues in a co-operative, non-hostile manner as this ensures consistency and correct application of procedures throughout the organization. Teamwork and transparency is paramount to the success of a company.

Having worked as a para legal for 12 years at the beginning of her career, she then went on to obtain her B.Compt. degree and Hons in Fin. Accounting and Auditing, followed by an MBA. Adrienne has also done a course at the University of Pretoria in the application of Business Rescue, to add value to her Thesis in Business Rescue which was her chosen topic for her Thesis at Gibbs.

Adrienne’s vision for her newly formed consulting company, the Back Office:
The significance of the Red Door as depicted in the logo has for many centuries around the globe signified the word “welcome – togetherness” which ties in with the vision of the Back Office :” To create profitable debtors centres of excellence, profitably providing the foundation to support the company’s vision & brand promise. An environment that supports healthy growth, minimizes risk and strives for constant innovation focusing on informed internal and external customers, without compromising the need for independence and internal controls. Business is not a stagnant science but is indeed a very fast moving target in these economic global challenges and as such each department in the company should be knowledgeable and flexible enough to change their strategy and processes as demanded and when so demanded, proactively”

Adrienne’s vision for herself:
To keep moving forward, innovate, continue learning and teaching others, and making a difference to the industry and to shareholder’s wealth in the interests of the global economy and people’s lives. To work with the team to improve results, implement processes for the various divisions and to growth a healthy company, one that the shareholders are proud to be associated with.

The Credit Risk Model designed by Adrienne in 2018 and reflected below, highlights the intricacies involved in achieving success for each department and the involvement of the many areas that affect the success of the centre of the business. She fondly refers to her model as her “Onion”, as each layer represents an area of business relating to credit risk analysis and implementation, risk and the identification of opportunity.
